Bad, Bad, Blogger

I'm so sorry that I've been missing in action for the last ten days. I started my new job as manager of Christopher and Banks in the Glenwood Springs Mall and have worked every day - most days from open to close. I have the most wonderful "training manager" in the world. Her name is Vicki and she has the patience of Job. I had no idea how tired a person could get. I would go to work, try and absorb everything Vicki would tell me, come home and feed my family and promptly go to sleep. Get up the next morning and....repeat! Vicki has left for a few days and I get two days off before she gets back so I promise I will get busy and post some things. I have a few cards I need to finish and some scrapbook pages that I'm planning on posting in the next 24 hours. Thank you for your patience and have a great day!

Merci for Looking!

After having been very frustrated with my Sassy Suzie card, I had to try and make something "pretty". This card uses the Merci set, SU DP and Ruby Red, River Rock, Groovy Guava and WW papers. It's hard to see, but I outlined everything with dazzling diamonds and dipped red brads in Versamark and then embossed with them with irridescent ice. It's prettier in person! So... thank you for looking!

Sassy Suzie's Underwire

These are strange colors, but they are the ones in the SU Jersey Shore DP on the background. I used the Sassy Suzie set and the papers I used were WW, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. Since there weren't enough polka dots on the dp :), I decided to add them to her blouse with my gel pen and also around the border. The buttons are also from SU.

First Acetate Card

I decided to try an acetate card this evening. I'm not sure why I was so worried about it. They are really easy. This card uses MFT's Eggstra Special set and SU's Priceless set. the paper colors are Whisper White, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink and SU DP. The flourishes on the front are embossed with white embossing powder and I added pearls and a ribbon. The bunnies ears are coated in dazzling diamonds.

Always Spring Notecard

I just received the "Always" stamp set in my Stampin Up shipment that came today and had to make a card. I love this bird. She speaks to me of the newness of Spring (even though we're expecting more snow soon). The colors are for the color challenge over at Splitcoast and the layout is for the sketch challenge. The colors are: Purely Pomegranite, Wild Wasabi and So Saffron. Thank you for looking and have a great day!

New Job!

Exciting day for me!!! Today I was offered the job as manager of the Christopher and Banks store in Glenwood Springs. YIPPEE! This is a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to start next week. Wish me luck in this new endeavor. I'll still have time to stamp and scrap and "even" hold a Stampin Up party once in a while (if I get up the nerve). In a perfect world I'll be opening three days a week, closing two days a week and working one Sunday a month. I'm sure there will be more hours until I get going.

First Altered Items

So having completed one card, could I stop there? Never....I had to try and alter two small notebooks that I picked up at Target this afternoon. This is my first attempt at altering something and am pleased with the results. I used all Stampin Up supplies on these. The "Faith" notebook is for last week's color challenge on Splitcoast. Thank you for looking!

Cool Button Inspiration

Yup... after putting some of the stamps together, I had no choice but to make a few things. I picked up this button on a card with two others at Walmart last week and thought it would be fun to use on a card. The paper colors are Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Stampin Up DP and Whisper White.

New Stuff

Our UPS man doesn't arrive until between 4 and 5 in the afternoon. So, of course, Friday afternoon he dropped off all of my new SU stuff at 5:00. This was just in time for me to eat dinner and get ready to teach. My boys and wonderful husband headed off into the mountains to a boy scout camping trip. After dinner, I had to head to Glenwood Springs to teach dancing for four hours. I got home around 11:00. Normally, I would have gone upstairs to my "working" room (as my boys refer to it) and stamp some new stuff, but no..... I had a job interview in Denver on Saturday. I drove 3 hours to Denver early Saturday morning so that I could go to Archivers before the interview, met with the District Manager of the clothing store that I'm applying to, shopped in the mall for an hour, ate lunch, and turned around and drove back home to Rifle. I got home around 7:00 and was too tired to do anything but lay on the couch and watch HGTV and the Food Channel. Today, Sunday, rolled around and I was busy until this evening around 9:00 after my boys went to bed. It's a good thing some of these stamps are already diecut so it was a quick job to mount a few of them. I still have quite a lot to go.
