RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Day 2

Okay you all...this is a struggle! I posted a set of things for Day 1 and feel compelled to post something similar for Day 2. I struggled with this but as you can see, I ended up altering a notebook, making a post-it note matchbook cover and a large paperclip. I used the Shades of Spring Designer Paper from the new Mini, Barely Banana, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive and Very Vanilla papers. In addition, I added SU rhinestone brads and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. All of the punches are from the SU catalog. The sentiment on the matchbook is from one of my all time favorite sets - Define Your Life. Hope you enjoy! Please make sure to check back tomorrow for Day 2 of the Blog Tour and be sure and visit the wonderful talented Laurie, who is next on the tour by clicking the image below. I appreciate all your comments!

RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Post 1

Welcome to the RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour! Thank you for taking the time to visit me. This was a quick little set to put together. For all three pieces I used Stampin Up's Vintage Vogue set from the new mini catalog. The Specialty paper is also from this same mini catalog and is titled Sending Love Specialty DP. The remaining papers used were SU's Very Vanilla, and Pretty in Pink. The ink was Pretty in Pink with a touch of Regal Rose. The brads and Dazzling Diamonds are also from SU. The little matchbox holds four chocolate nuggets and was cut using SU's Matchbox Die. I wish you all the joy of this season and may all your dreams come true in the new year. Please make sure to check back tomorrow for Day 2 of the Blog Tour and be sure and visit the wonderful talented Candyce who is next on the tour by clicking the image below. I appreciate all your comments!

Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish all of you a belated Merry Christmas. As a department store general manager, my life has been a little hectic for the last month. I've had two days off in the last 31, but.... I'm taking four days off this week and have all kinds of stamping and scrapping plans. This is the Christmas Tree that was in our den. I had six trees up in my house and will try and post some more of them before I have to take them down. My dream is to have a bed and breakfast with all of the rooms decorated for Christmas so I'd never have to take it down. Talk with you later. Don't forget to check back soon. The Remarkable Stampers are having a blog hop which starts on December 31 please join us!!! This next tree is the one in my bedroom. Hope you enjoy!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Well....so much for dreaming. This was at 8:00 last night. This morning we had another 12 inches (20 on the ground.) We shoveled three times yesterday and again this morning so that I could get to work. This also proved to be interesting as I had to be towed in the parking lot of the mall. We are one of three stores that are open. The kids have a snow day from school and are loving it. I'm hoping to get some more of my Christmas projects up by tomorrow. Have a great, warm day!

4th Day Remarkable Stampers Holiday Blog Tour

Well, it's time to say goodbye to a wonderful blog hop brought to you from the Remarkable Stampers. The theme for this was last minute Holiday items. Well, this is about as last minute as it comes. I got home ten minutes ago and whipped this together using SU's sticky letters, glitter, paper and ribbon. I had some oblong coasters and used those for the base. The picture doesn't really do it justice. Thank you for your comments! Please take time to visit Becky as I know you'll love whatever she has created. Thank you and come back and visit soon!

Day 3 - Remarkable Holiday Blog Tour

Okay, I apologize!!! Please don't throw anything at me, but all I had time for today was a Christmas Card. I manage a department store and was at work all day. Then I had to deejay a ballroom dance at the Community Center. I was going to try and get something else made, but alas I ran out of time. I will do better tomorrow. Thank you for all your kind comments so far in the blog hop. Make sure you visit Becky and I'll talk with you tomorrow!

2nd Day - Holiday Blog Tour

Welcome back to day 2 of the Remarkable Holiday Blog Tour. I hope you enjoyed looking at all of the great creations yesterday and know that you'll be excited about the second day's "stuff". I've always wanted to try and make one of these and finally got up the nerve. I was home sick with a really bad cold and had lots of time on my hands, so I'd do a few steps, take a nap, a few more steps, take a nap.... I'm pleased with how it turned out. I had seen this made with numerous different papers, but never as a Christmas stationary box. I made this entirely with the SU Simply Scrappin Christmas Jingle and the SU Dasher Stamp. This is what it looks like open:

And finally, the innards:

I took this to work with me and showed it to one person and ended up with three orders. I told them I had to finish the blog tour before I could make any more of these.
Thank you for all of your comments! Don't forget to click on Becky's blog to get to the next stop. See you tomorrow....

Peace on Earth Gift Bag

Welcome to the Remarkable Holiday Blog Tour. This is a gift bag that I made using an ordinary white lunch bag from the grocery store. The base of the panels is Stampin Up Kraft. I mounted the SU patterned paper on White for the cover and stamped the tree from Snow Swirled with Versamark. The sentiment is from SU's Four the Holidays and is also stamped with Versamark. They were both embossed with SU Silver Detail EP. The ribbon is SU's Whisper White 5/8" organza. I punched the holes at the top with an SU punch and added pearls for little more glamour. I hope you like it. If you'd like the dimensions of snything, please let me know. Thank you for leaving your comments and have a blessed and peaceful day. Make sure you take time to visit ALL the ladies on the Blog Tour. Your next stop is Becky and I'm sure you'll love what she has waiting for you. Just click on her name and you'll magically be taken to her blog.

Halloween Treat

I saw a treat similar to this on one of the blogs, so sorry I don't know who to give credit to. This is the first time I've ever used my Big Shot from Stampin' Up. I glued the stripes down on a piece of white paper and cut out the Top Note die. I embossed the sentiment with some old purple embossing powder from my stash and added some black and white check ribbon from SU. My 10 year old thought these were great and really enjoyed handing them out in class. It's been a while since I posted, we had a very important store visit with the bigwigs of the Company. In addition, I had to fly to Albuequerque for a management meeting. Thank you for patience and for leaving comments!

Merry Moments and Challenge 249

This is another card for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast this week. I stamped the image in SU Basic Brown using SU's Wandering Words from the new Mini Catalog. I sponged the edges with real red, but still wasn't happy with it. I distressed the edges and in the process one of the corners of the image bent. This presented another challenge - restamp or make do. I decided to make do and bent and fussed with it until the entire image appeared distressed. The image was mounted on Going Green and Real red. The designer paper is SU's Merry Moments and the ribbon is from last year at SU. It's very unusual for me to make a card without sparkle, so I added the three brads in the bottom right corner. Hope you like it!

Dual Challenge Country Snow Card

It's been a very long time since I've entered any of the challenges at Splitcoast, and decided I'd better jump back in. The challenges were sketch challenge SC249 and the color challenge CC239 using Mellow Moss, Kraft and White. I used SU's Punch Pals stamp set and stamped the images in Versamark, then embossed them with white EP. The white strip has coarse crystal glitter that I had in my stash. I wanted something that wasn't too sparkly for the gingham ribbon. We have the possibility of snow coming our way either today or tomorrow, hence the card. Thank you for your comments and have a great day!

Simply Swirly Christmas

Here's the second of the truly "simple" cards from this evening. I used SU's Snow Swirled stamp set. I really wanted this set last year when it came out, but wasn't able to get it. I was thrilled that it was in this year's catalog and ordered it right away. I embossed the tree and sentiment on Shimmery White paper with SU's gold embossing powder and mounted both of them on SU's gold paper. The white and gold organza ribbon are from SU. However, I regressed and used gold backless dots and flat rhinestones from my stash instead of using "all" SU stuff. For the purists out there, I apologize, but I couldn't help myself. Thank you for looking and leaving your comments.

Fall Pheasant

Well, I think I'm still the Queen of "Simple". I made two more cards this evening, both of which are quick and easy. This card uses the Stampin Up set titled Autumn Days. I've had it for a while and purchased it because I liked the pheasant. I tried two or three times to make a card using him, but they never turned out the way I wanted. I like this one better than all my other attempts. The paper used was SU's Autumn Meadows DP, More Mustard, and Really Rust. I stamped the pheasant in Basic Brown and used gold brads and ribbon from SU. Thank you for your comments and I hope you're enjoying this incredibly beautiful Fall season.

Super Simple Merry Christmas Card

Here's a "super, simple, Merry Christmas card." Say that five times really fast without stopping. Just kidding. Sometimes I think that simplicity may be the answer. For this card I stamped the image from SU's Holiday Best set on Very Vanilla with Versamark and embossed it in gold. This was mounted on Really Red and then again on Very Vanilla. In order for it to "pop" off the SU Merry Moments DP, I edged the bottom layer of Very Vanilla with a Gold Paint Pen that I found in with my other "stuff". You may have to click on the image to see the edging. The ribbon and brads are also from Stampin' Up. Hope you like it. I appreciate all your comments. Have a great week!

Thankful For Fall

I finished the albums and delivered them to my friend. She was thrilled! Now I'm back to what I really enjoy....making cards and stamping. I received my Stampin Up order and absolutely love everything in it. This stamp set is called Wandering Words and is from the Mini Catalog. The patterned paper is also from the Mini Catalog and is called Autumn Meadows. The solid paper is SU's Taken With Teal and Very Vanilla. I stamped the image in Chocolate Chip and then lightly sponged over the image with Really Rust and Taken with Teal. I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip and mounted the image on Really Rust. The ribbon and brads are also from Stampin' Up. It's not often that I truly like a card as soon as I make it, but I think this one might be the exception. I'm pleased with it and appreciate any comments you have to offer. Have a blessed day and enjoy Fall!

Missing in Scrapbook Land

I've been missing due to a large order. I was commissioned to complete two identical scrapbooks of a trip to Yellowstone. First of all, I hate doing the same thing twice. Second, there are only so many layouts you can create with 60 pictures of buffalos. How about over 100 pictures of geysers erupting? Needless to say it was a major challenge, but I made a nice amount of money and she wants me to create at least three more scrapbooks for her. My only regret is that I didn't take any pictures. Hopefully I can get back to some card making later tonight. I received my lastest Stampin Up order and can't wait to play. Talk to you again soon.

Holiday Blog Tour - Day 3

I'm late, I'm late for an important date, no time to say hello, good-bye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late. Sound familiar? I'm afraid it's the story of my blog life. In my real life, I'm always early. I made this card this morning and wanted to create something a little more whimsical for Christmas. Not sure that it accomplished that task, but I hope you like it anyway. I used SU's Season of Joy stamp set. The papers are SU Whisper White, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. I embossed the swirls on the white with SU's White Embossing Powder and the Christmas tree with SU's Silver Embossing Powder. I then highlighted the swirls and tree with SU's Dazzling Diamonds. The ribbon and crystal accents are all from SU. Click on the image for the details as they didn't photograph very well. Hope you like. Please leave comments and feedback. You "need" to visit the next person in the blog hop. Please visit Laurie - she is incredibly talented. Have a great day!

Holiday Blog Tour - Day 2

Good morning everyone! Day two of the Remarkable Stampers Holiday Blog Tour is here and I'm running late. This was supposed to be up at midnight, but.....I fell asleep after sitting in the hot tub for 30 minutes last night. The main problem was that I hadn't even made my card. So, I got up at 5:00 this morning and here is my Day Two creation (created on Day Two). The stamp sets I used from Stampin Up are Autumn Days and Beautiful Borders. On the inside I wrote "Happy Thanksgiving". The papers are are all new In Colors - Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. I embossed the wheat, saying and border with SU's gold embossing powder. The ribbon is also one of our new In Color ribbons. Thank you for leaving your comments, signing up as followers and I hope you have a wonderful day! Your next stop on the tour is Laurie. I'm amazed at all the talent on the tour and hope you are enjoying yourself visiting all of us.

Holiday Blog Tour - Day 1

Yippee!! The first day of the Holiday Blog Tour has finally arrived. This blog tour is being hosted by Jan's Remarkable Team of Stampin Up Stampers. You couldn't ask for a more talented, friendly, wonderful group of stampers anywhere in the world. I was supposed to have this up at midnight, but my computer decided to go a little wonky. I am making these favors for my son's class for halloween. The stamp set is Stampin Up's Boo to You and I used a variety of the stamps to make different tins. The bottom layer was punched out of Stampin Up paper using the SU scallop punch. The ink is SU's Very Black. I apologize for having used the googly eyes (which are not a Stampin Up product), but my 10 year old insisted. I appreciate any and all comments offered and would love to have you either join my mailing list or become a follower. Your next stop on this wonderful tour is Laurie. Hope you have fun on your tour and look forward to seeing you on day 2. Keep coming back as I will be posting some blog candy before the tour is over.

Front of House

This is the front of my new house. Sorry it's taken me so long to post, but it's been crazy around here. I've spent the last three days in Aspen teaching private Argentine Tango lessons, attending JazzAspen (Doobie Brothers who were great and the Allman Brothers who were not so great), and putting on a workshop/barbecue/dance at my house this afternoon and evening. Thank you for continuing to support me during this crazy, hectic time. I should have more cards up in the next couple of days.

Warm Wishes - New SU In Colors

In the midst of all the rest of the commotion, I found shaving cream in my stamp room. Never having tried this technique I decided to attempt it. What fun! The little strip of marbled looking paper was created with shaving cream and three of the new in color reinkers. I versamarked the background, colored the image with markers on rubber and topped it all off with the new SU polka dot ribbon. I had a difficult time coming to grips with combining these colors but felt the marbled paper helped it work. Thank you for looking and commenting!

I've Moved!!!

Some of you have asked what happened? Where am I? Thank you for missing me. I had an opportunity to move out of my cute "little" rental into a fabulous 2,600 square foot house with my very own stamping room. YIPPEE!!! The boys each have their own room and their own den. I have another 1,000 square foot room for teaching private dance lessons and/or stamping workshops. This move has been a little tough on me physically, with working 40 hours at my regular job, teaching dance two to three nights a week, having the boys start back to school, packing, unpacking, cleaning.... you know the drill. But, we're finally in and absolutely love it. I'll try and get a picture up of the front of the house tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and continued support. Have a great day!

Sunflowers and Followers

I had a few moments yesterday and "ran" back to my stamp room. I had just seen a beautiful garden of sunflowers and remembered that I had never even put this set together. I mounted it, designed it and stamped it - all in about 15 minutes. If you click on the image you can see a closer view where I used an SU background stamp. All products are from Stampin Up. Hope you like it! Also, I'm hoping that some of you will like my "stuff" enough to become followers of my blog. Thank you for your comments and continued support! Have a bloomin' wonderful day!

Stampin' Up Business Opportunity

I have been a Stampin' Up Demonstrator twice. The first time I signed up, I felt like I was swimming in a sea with no lifesaving devices anywhere. As a result, I dropped after having accumulated more stamping supplies than any human should own. However...I really enjoyed the products and missed getting them at a discount. So.....I found an incredible upline who is located in Pennsylvania - Janet Wakeland. I rejoined with much trepidation, but found that this business could be worked with me in Colorado and my upline in Pennsylvania. She has been an inspiration to me, both creatively and businessly (not a word, but it sounds interesting.) My goal is to build my business and I would like to set the ball in motion through the internet. (I live in a remote area of Colorado and have struggled with finding recruits in the area.) I plan on using the tools that Janet has provided me and will send out packages and emails on a regular basis to my new recruits. Stampin' Up is offering an incredible promotion for people to sign up - $85.00 which includes business tools and many "new" products. For more details, please visit my Stampin' Up website at: http://leslyadams.stampinup.net. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me at: lsadamsdance@msn.com,

As a further incentive, all of my new recruits will receive four yards each of the new in colors polka dot ribbon as a thankyou for becoming part of my team.

Dates: July 15 - August 31, 2009

True Friendship Rose Card

I think I'm having a hard time letting go of last year's SU In Color Kiwi. It's definitely one of my favorite greens. This card is all SU products. The sentiment is from the Serene Sunflower set. I really enjoyed making this card because it was very quick to throw together. Thank you for looking and leaving your comments. Have a great day!

MIA in Texas

Well folks, I've been missing in action in the great state of Texas. I went to pick up my boys from Camp Stewart and then spent time at my sister's ranch in Wimberly before going to Corpus Christi to spend time with my mom. A great time was had by all, but I neglected to take my computer with me so I was unable to upload anything to my blog. In addition to which, I'm sorry to say that my last two weeks at home in Colorado were spent at my store and/or teaching dancing. Stamping was no where in the equation. However.... Yippee.... I had today off and was able to start catching up and "maybe" even getting ahead with some of my posts. This card is one that I made using SU's Pocket Silhouette stamp set. All of the designer paper is SU, as well as the ribbon and solid paper. The only "non" SU product was the nestabilities die I used to cut out an emboss the image. I hope you like it. Please leave your comments as they are always an inspiration to me. Have a great day! More later....

Cracked Glass Razzle Dazzle

Couldn't stop with the quick one....had to make something else. Not only that, I had to attempt a technique I've never done before. I've always wanted to try cracked glass, but I had to wait until 1:00 in the morning to try and figure it out. It worked. Yippee! This card used lots of new SU stuff. I'm not sure if I like this one better than the last one. I may have to try and figure it out after some sleep. Thank you for your comments.

Razzle Dazzle Clean and Simple

I just received my Stampin Up order and had no choice but to stay up waaayyy too late to ink up at least one set of new stamps. This card uses the new Razzle Dazzle stamp set and was pretty quick and easy to put together. I also used the new "suede" color from SU. In fact, everything on this card is from SU. Hope you like it.

Sterling Rose

Thank you for all of your kind comments on my peace rose card. My mother's favorite rose is a "sterling". I attempted to duplicate the colors using SU's pale plum and perfect plum reinkers. All of the papers are SU. The ribbon is from my stash and I don't know who makes it as I only had a little piece left. I apologize for posting another rose card, but am hoping that you will enjoy this beautiful rose. Thank you for your comments. Have a great day!

Peace Rose

Oh my goodness! Unless you are planning on being addicted to a new technique - don't try this. Just click on the picture if you want to see the rose in more detail (highly recommended.) I've made over 20 different roses and just need to finish making the cards for them. This was the first rose I made using plain old H20 and reinkers. All of the products are SU. The stamp set is Fifth Avenue Floral. I will try and post a tutorial over the coming weekend. I saw these on the internet, but I apologize because I can't seem to remember whose blog it was. Thank you for looking and leaving your comments.

Colorado Summer

Thought you might appreciate this picture of the Colorado River. I took my boys to Denver on Tuesday to put them on an airplane to Corpus Christi. They will be at Camp Stewart for a month. Hopefully, when I stop crying, I'll be able to spend some time in my stamp room. I took this picture at a gas station in Vail on our way to Denver. Have a great day!

Michael's Teacher Gift

Nothing like waiting until the last minute....tomorrow is the last day of school for my 3rd grader, Michael. As soon as I got home tonight, off I went to my little craft room to attempt some last minute creativity. The school colors are red and white, but I took the liberty of changing them to very vanilla and real red to match the SU designer paper. The stamp is from Close to My Heart and the remainder of the supplies are Stampin' Up. I used my new set of nestabilities that I received in the mail last week. This is a large paper clip I purchased at Hobby Lobby over a year ago:I purchased this little notebook in the $1 section of Michaels a couple of weeks ago:I'm not one to alter things as I struggle with this part of stamping, but these were easy. The last part of the gift is four note cards for Charla:I sure hope she enjoys these. Thank you for looking and leaving your comments. Have a great day!

Grad Card

My next door neighbors' daughter, Billie, graduated on Saturday from Glenwood Springs High School. The school colors are red, white and black, so I whipped up this little card to attach to her gift. I embossed the images in black, added rhinestones, made a bow and "voila" a card is born. The inside has the quote "Go confidentely in the direction of your dreams." Hope you like the card and have a great day!

Next Year - - It's Breakfast in Bed

This picture looks so sweet and innocent. But....imagine a 1 1/4 mile hike, traveling 1,020 feet up a ROCKY mountain to see a lake, followed by the treacherous retreat down the mountain. On the way up, at the 1/4 mile marker, I told my boys that I wasn't sure if I could make it. At the 1/2 mile marker I asked someone how much further it was to the lake and they said "Oh, it's not bad and it's definitely worth it." My, oh my...they lied about the not so bad part. However, it truly was gorgeous when we made it to the top. We took about an hour and a half to climb to the top and an hour to get back down. Next year for Mother's Day all I want is breakfast in bed. Even cereal would do. It was a beautiful day and the boys and I are planning on hiking this trail again...(If I live that long...)Thus was just a itty bitty part of the trail.

Mother-in-Law's Mother's Day Card

Obviously by the title, this card is for my Husband's mom. She is a very special lady who lives in Idaho. Paul and I have become best friends since we separated, but I haven't spoken to anyone else in his family since Thanksgiving weekend when my boys and I moved out. I hope she enjoys the card and knows that I still care about her. For this card I used the "dryer sheet" technique. Click on the picture to see it enlarged in all of its glitter. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I may have to try it again on another card before I decide. The stamps are from Stampin'Up as are all of the supplies (except the dryer sheet which is brought to you directly from dryer this morning.) Thank you for looking and leaving your comments. Have a great day!

Mother's Day Card

My Clinique Counter Manager came to me this morning and asked if it would be at all possible for me to make a Mother's Day Card to send to her mom. Well, me being me, and not knowing how to say "no, sorry", I said yes. So this evening I put this card together using all Stampin Up supplies, except the Offray ribbon. I used my markers to color the stamps and actually used my "test run" on the cards. Usually I make two or three attempts before I'm at all pleased. The stamp sets are All Year Cheer II and Thoughts and Prayers. Thank you for your continued support and all your comments. Have a great day!
